‘Sup

We’re the Erhorns, but you can call us Craig and Lynn.  We’ve been putting smiles on faces with our kitchen adventures for years and we’re sharing some of our favorite recipes with you here.

We’re not officially “foodies,” don’t really have any formal training in culinary arts, and aren’t even trying to out-do any of the other food blogs (though we will give them the respect they’re due with links and shout outs!) — we’re your next door neighbors and that’s how we want your visit here to feel.   We just love food, cooking, and sharing both with others!  Most of the images on this blog were taken with our smart phones (Lynn’s an iPhone and Craig’s a Droid) and we’ll talk to you as we would if you were hanging out with us in the kitchen.  We wish we could actually feed you some of this stuff, but at least we can equip you to make it yourself!

Most of the time, it’ll be Lynn doing the posting.  But, Craig has some specialty areas where he’ll chime in, too.  We love to experiment, especially with ethnic cuisines, and have made some great dishes after shopping in the Asian and Indian markets for specialty ingredients.  If we have a favorite brand, you’ll hear about it!  Tips and techniques will show up, too.

Here’s the serious-business corner of our kitchen, featuring some of our favorite items like our red Kitchen Aid standing mixer, our big red bucket of cooking utensils and our over-stuffed recipe box.

See?  No pretense.  Just us!  If you were expecting Giada Delaurentis and Alton Brown, you’ll need to make a mental adjustment.  We’re like the goofball version of both!

We’re just in the first stages of putting together a cookbook, using the same casual and quirky approach, so come on and follow us for updates and pre-sale info when that’s ready!

Two significant, life-altering events are also represented here.

Our faith drives everything we do and we share that with you here.  We’ve made a point of being welcoming and easygoing about how we do that.  If you find that aspect of this site unpleasant, but still like the recipes, we won’t mind if you just skip the scripture or the tab labeled “The Truth.”  That choice is entirely yours, however we will delete comments that are disrespectful or vitriolic toward Christianity.

And, since we were New Yorkers on September 11, 2001, the events of that day are especially important to remember for us.  So, we pay tribute to our country, the twin towers, and the heros of the day and bid you never forget.
